Yardbusters is a program that operates from June 1 to October 1, providing support to income-qualified seniors or income-qualified individuals with disabilities in maintaining their lawns and yard areas throughout the summer growing season.
Volunteers are paired with a resident for the entire season and assist with tasks such as lawn mowing, raking, light hand pruning, weed mowing, or removal to help maintain compliance with municipal codes.
Residents are responsible for providing the necessary tools and lawn equipment, while volunteers will be given gloves upon request. To meet municipal vegetation code requirements, the average number of visits to a resident's home in 2024 was twice per month. Volunteers can participate individually, as a family, or as part of a team.
