Who We Are
Thornton's Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation (AIR) program exists to provide meaningful recreation opportunities for individuals with disabilities. We envision a community where people of all abilities have the opportunity to choose their involvement in recreation which, in turn, enriches their quality of life and enhances social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills and well being.
What We Do
As a volunteer you may help with inclusion where a participant with a disability may benefit from extra support in a program among peers without disabilities. You may also volunteer in an AIR specific program.
AIR Programs are specifically designed to include individuals of all abilities and include sports, gymnastics, dance, swim, fitness, enrichment classes, social activities, and adventure opportunities. Volunteers may demonstrate activities, encourage a participant, play as a teammate, or assist with tasks.
