Volunteer: Assist Homeless Outreach Team with Point in Time Count

Point in Time Count

The Thornton Homeless Outreach Team will be participating in the National Point in Time (PIT) Count, a nationwide effort to survey and connect with individuals experiencing homelessness. During this event, volunteers will help gather important data, offer immediate resources, and distribute food throughout the City of Thornton.

Volunteers will be required to complete training videos provided once they become available. Once training videos are available, they will be emailed, and volunteers will be asked if they have completed the training material. A QR Code and Survey Link will be provided on the day of the event for data collection.

Volunteers will meet with the Homeless Outreach Team at the Thornton Community Connections building where they will receive outreach locations, supplies, and guidance. Teams will travel by car to various areas on the map and walk through trails and open spaces to connect with the unhoused community.

Volunteers are encouraged to wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear that cover their entire feet and that are comfortable for extended walking and/or standing. Bring water and snacks for the allotted shift.

Join us in making a difference in our community by helping ensure that every individual experiencing homelessness is counted and connected with support.
