Event Overview:
The City of Thornton’s Community Connections is partnering with the community and local organizations to help students prepare for back to school. The 2025 Back-to-School Event will be on Saturday, August 9th, 9:00a.m. – 11:00a.m. (or until supplies last) at 9471 Dorothy Blvd. Thornton, CO 80229. We’re looking for volunteers to help with organizing and filling backpacks with school supplies prior to the event and event support the day of the event.

Thornton Community Connections: 9471 Dorothy Blvd, Thornton, CO 80229
Parking:
Free parking is available on the west side of the building, go past the fire station and turn right. You’re also welcome to park around the neighborhood as you’re comfortable.
Volunteer Duties:
During your scheduled volunteer shift, Community Connections Staff, or I will explain the volunteer duties in person at the beginning of your shift, duties include:
· Organize and count school supply donations.
· Assemble backpacks with school supplies.
· Arrange and decorate space for event.
What to Bring:
· Please wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes.
· You’re encouraged to bring your own water bottle.
